Lucky Cat is a common lucky charm from Japan. People displayed the Lucky Cat figurine at the entrance of their shop or even house to bring good luck & fortune.
For this Mother's day, I'm giving my mom a Lucky Cat cause I know she purchase Lottery ticket. So, can we keep this Lucky Cat? He will bring good luck to you!

Simplylife Yoga Mural

I was given a chance to draw a mural for a yoga center. It was a new challenge for me as this is my first time to draw something not only on a wall but also huge!
To tell you the truth, YES, I'm nervous, I'm scared, I'm not sure can I do it...

Everything wasn't going so well at first. I couldn't predict how much paint I need to use, so that I need to get back to the art shop again and again...
And it even took me so many hours to mix the colour that I wanted.

But as time goes by, everything just fall into place. And I started to enjoying it.
As this is a yoga center, I was asked to paint a tree to symbolise the Tree Pose. The Tree Pose is actually one of the basic pose in yoga and the main attention is about balancing which is why there are day and night in the mural.

Finally I finished it in a week time... I'm glad that I did it :)

Drawing mural isn't a simple task, it required patient and of course physical strength. But if you are truly enjoying it, I'm sure you can overbear it.

And, the little mushroom girl who always live in my heart. Thanks for giving me strength whenever I feel lost and wanted to give up.

三月初十宜养猫

妈啊，日历上说今天宜养猫！
就让我今天养只猫吧，哈哈哈.

I always loved the "old fashion" Chinese calendar. It reminds me of my childhood, because I was in charge to tear it down everyday. The old fashion Chinese calendar is thick because it is not like the modern calendar which is a month a page. The old fashion Chinese calendar comes in a day a page (so there are 365 pages), you have to tear it everyday. 

Another fun thing about it is, there are lots of info on it. On the old fashion Chinese calendar, it will state what you can do and what you cannot do on the same day. Only on a certain day you can do certain things, for example, moving house, praying, getting married, travel... 

So, today it state there its suitable to keep a cat, feed a cat, buy cat food & play with cat. Not suitable to not keep a cat. 
I'm going to show this to my mom!

Happy Double Valentine!

Good day everyone.

Its 14th February today, also 15th January on the Lunar calendar. 15th January in Lunar calendar is the last day of Chinese New Year and also Valentine's day for the Chinese.
So, its a double Valentine's day, double happiness! 

Its rare to have Western Valentine's & Chinese Valentine's on the same day. If you miss it, you will have to wait until year 2033.

今年，我要马上有猫！

配合马年，人人都在马背上加上自己想要的东西，象征着马上，立刻可以得到的意思. 放上一枚铜币在马背上象征着 “马上有钱” ，马背上有只苍蝇就是 “马上赢”，马背上有对大象就是 “马上有对象”. 哈哈... 是不是很有趣.  

妈呀，我只是希望能养只猫，我要马上有猫！

2014 Lunar year will be the year of horse. In Mandarin, the words "马上" （pronounce as "ma shang"）which mean on the horseback，have the same meaning as "immediately". 

So, everyone tend to put something on the horseback to symbolise they can get the thing immediately, its something like dreams come true! For example, if you put money on the horseback, it means you will get rich immediately! 

For me, I just want a cat!

I always love Chinese New Year, because all my familly members will gathered and we celebrate together. Besides, we will have lots of good food together, I think that's the best part, hahaha...

It's my first time baking tart & I have so much fun with it. It's easy and you can replace the filling with any fruits that you like, pineapple, grapes, blueberry, cherry, apple, banana... (you can try durian if you are a durian lover >_<)

Potato Three Brother

I've heard a lot about the legend of  “Potato Three  Brother” (薯条三兄弟). It’s a snack from Hokkaido, Japan.
Finally, I get to taste it by myself. It’s so tasty that I couldn't stop after the first bite!  What makes me so surprise is the chip is actually solid inside, not empty. Just like fries :)
And I heard there’s another version called “Potato Three Sister” (薯块三姐妹).
I wish I can try that too, yum, yum, yum...
